How AI is being developed and deployed to help manage the real world?

When we conducted Silverpond’s first ecosystem survey in 2017, the AI industry was in a different place. That was the year when AI made great strides with DeepMind’s AlpahGo beating the world number one ranked Go player Ke Jie, and OpenAI’s Dota 2 bot beating the professional player Danylo “Dendi” Ishutin. It was also before Google Duplex generated controversy at the Google I/O launch in May 2018. Many people were asking “What is AI?” and many conversations were centered around exploring and understanding the technology.

Upon returning to the survey this year, we wanted to rethink the survey since the AI industry has matured. There are many in the industry who now have a much better handle on AI technologies, and we believe the focus of conversations have shifted to dealing with challenges brought forth when applying AI.

Adel Foda and I are pleased to present the following interview series with professionals in our industry, where we discuss the real-world challenges we face.
