Women in Machine Learning Blog Series: Part 1

Late last year we kicked off the Women in Machine Learning program with generous support from Qantas and Jetstar.

We created Women in Machine Learning to try and address the gender imbalance in MLAI and the wider tech industry. There are countless stats about how diverse teams perform better and make better products, software and applications. We also recognise the importance of diversity when making decisions around the way in which technology is used.

We had the unenviable task of selecting just 20 attendees from 68 applications, and we were blown away by their brilliance. In addition, as we learnt more about each attendee through the Women in Machine Learning program, we realised that they each have a really interesting story to tell about their career, along with advice on how to increase diversity and representation in the industry.
